Through Midjourney, I began experimenting with image generation as a starting point for my findings on AI art. Image generating AI strikes me as one of the most powerful tool available to mankind. Among my quick trial of humanized constellations, I discovered an image that uncannily resembled Michelangelo's “Pietà”.

It seemed to me to be an AI interpretation of the futuristic " Pietà," and shortly I changed its details and composition to artificially reinforce this enigmatic relationship.

Humans have been expressing emotions like detachment, love, and sadness through art for centuries, along with Michelangelo's Pietà in the Renaissance and continuing with Siobhan Havaska's Robot at the start of the new millennium. I experienced a fair amount of shock when I came across anAI-generated work that resembled a classic work of human civilization.

To me,the emotional connection in the image is simply a continuation of the author's original version, I realized after calming down from the visual impact and looking at it again. Through the use of sophisticated algorithms and sample learning, AI may be able to mimic human artistic style, but the tool itself cannot Autonomously creating without being turned on or set. As we known that humans are not entirely logical and rational, some key points like sensuality and emotional reactions that may be core motivators of creating.  And if at that aspect, maybe AI will never turly be able to replaces the creation of humans.

Her work uses a dazzling array of materials, each loaded with history and multiple readings: olive trees, deerskins, coconuts, wheat, moss and sheepskin come into contact with sleek aerodynamic forms, aluminium, engines, artillery, concrete cloth and industrial machinery. via:www.kerlingallery.com
